Terry was raised in Lake Quinault, Washington in the foothills of Olympic National Park and the Quinault Rainforest, and attended Aberdeen High School. Terry graduated from Central Washington University and worked as a Civil Engineer in Commercial Construction in Seattle upon graduation. After years of working in construction, Terry identified his true passion, which was working with young people, and proceeded to return to school and earn his teaching certificate through Pacific Lutheran University. Terry taught High School English for several years and coached football, basketball, and track at Bethel High School. He and his wife, Brooke, were married here in Chelan, which had long been their favorite place to spend time. In 2020, Terry, his wife Brooke, and their trusty Bernese Mountain dog Rainier made the move to Chelan for good. Terry earned his Washington State Principal Licensure from Gonzaga University, and serves as a High School Principal in the Lake Chelan School District. Terry is very involved in youth sports, and works closely with many community organizations, most notably, Thrive Chelan Valley. Outside of work, Terry is an avid mountain climber and hiker.
