Councilmember Peter Jamtgaard grew up in S E Portland and has lived in the Chicago area and Honolulu before moving to Chelan. He is divorced with no children. Peter started coming to the Chelan Valley in 1972 visiting Holden Village and returned numerous times living and working at Holden and in Chelan. He has been a permanent resident of Chelan for three years. Peter has an undergraduate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Marquette University and a Professional Master in Structural Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He is a licensed civil and structural engineer in multiple states. Peter has 30 years of experience in construction and engineering/architecture. In 2008 his employer built four 50+ story buildings in Chicago for steel erection, deck erection, and crane erection, under his department. He is an expert in computer-aided drafting and building information modeling. Peter has worked as the Safety Director for Holden Village and other previous employers. Currently, he works locally, nationally, and internationally as an engineering consultant. Peter served over six years on the Autodesk Users Group International (with 300,000+ members) as a Director and as Vice President. He has served over 11 years as a director for the Steel Deck Institute (a trade organization for the multibillion-dollar steel deck industry).
