Proposal: An application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit (SSDP) to construct a porta-potty enclosure within Riverwalk Park approximately 125 feet away from the ordinary high-water mark of Lake Chelan. The City of Chelan Shoreline Master Program (CSMP) identifies the Shoreline Environment Designation as Park/Public for the upland portion of the property.
Environmental Review: The City of Chelan, as SEPA lead agency, has determined that this project is categorically exempt from the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) under WAC 197-11-800(1)(b)(iv): The construction of an office, school, commercial, recreational, service or storage building with 4,000 square feet of gross floor area, and with associated parking facilities designed for 20 automobiles. This determination is based on review of the application materials including the submitted JARPA form, SMP Compliance Memo, and Project Drawings.
Comment Period: Agencies, tribes, and the public are encouraged to review and comment on the proposed project. The public comment period on this application will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on August 22, 2025.
