Proposal: An application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit (SSDP) to construct an aluminum stairway from the existing pier. The stairway will be approximately 13 ft long and 6 ft wide, adhering to code compliance for stairway slope. One side of the stairway will contain a handrail, while the other side will be connected to the existing seawall. The upper portion of the stairway will connect to the existing pier, while the lower portion will be anchored to a concrete footing measuring 4 ft wide, 6 ft long, and 6 inches deep.
Environmental Review: The City of Chelan, as SEPA lead agency, has reviewed the proposed project for probable adverse environmental impacts and expects to issue a determination of non-significance (DNS). The optional DNS process in WAC 197-11-355 is being used. This may be your only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts on this phase of the proposed project. A copy of the threshold determination may be obtained upon request.
Comment Period: Agencies, Tribes, and the public are encouraged to review and comment on the proposed project and its probable environmental impacts. The public comment period on this application will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on June 7, 2025
Any person has the right to comment on this application, receive notice of and participate in any hearing, and request a copy of any decision once made. Appeal procedures can vary according to the type of decision being appealed; please contact the Chelan Department of Planning & Community Development with questions about appeals.
