Lake Chelan Airport

The Lake Chelan Airport (FAA LID: S10), is a general aviation public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of Chelan. The airport is owned by the City of Chelan and the Port of Chelan County.

Lake Chelan Airport covers an area of 78 acres (32 ha) at an elevation of 1,263 feet (385 meters) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 02/20 with an asphalt surface measuring 3,503 by 60 feet (1,068 by 18 meters). A PAPI visual guidance system is available on Runway 20. Runway surface asphalt is in good condition and has runway edge lights at medium intensity

Lake Chelan Airport offers self-service Jet A Fuel and Aviation Fuel 24 hours a day at very competitive prices. There is also a pilot's lounge with a kitchen, shower and Wi-Fi. Pilots should be aware there is considerable parachute landing activity in the spring, summer, and early fall at the Lake Chelan Airport.

Lake Chelan Airport Environmental Assessment

The City of Chelan is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate the potential impacts of proposed improvements at the Lake Chelan Airport. The EA will evaluate the potential direct, indirect, and cumulative environmental impacts that may result from the proposed project. The City will conduct the EA in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, Council on Environmental Quality Regulations, and other applicable Federal Aviation Administration orders, directives, and guidance.

The public will have opportunities to provide input and comments on the proposed project during the current scoping phase and after the City publishes the Draft EA. To review the proposed project and submit a comment, please visit the project website or by scanning the QR code with your phone.

The City of Chelan hereby announces its proposed Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of 4.1% for FAA-funded contracts/agreements. The proposed goal pertains to federal fiscal years 2024 through 2026. A teleconference will be held at 11:00 am PDT on July 11, 2023 for the purpose of consulting with stakeholders to obtain information relevant to the goal-setting process. The intent of the call will be to obtain input from various groups on the methodology of this goal setting and consider any suggestions or changes that may need to be made prior to submission of this goal to the FAA Office of Civil Rights.
