Mayor Erin McCardle

Mayor McCardle worked in the software industry for 13 years prior to moving to Chelan in 2005. Before becoming Mayor in 2024, she served on the Chelan City Council from 2010 to 2023. Erin has also served as the Executive Director for the Historic Downtown Chelan Association from 2018 through 2021 and is the managing partner of The Barn Fitness Center. Erin has lived in downtown Chelan since 2005 with her husband and two sons. When not at the gym, a baseball game or City Hall, you will find Erin outside enjoying any and every outdoor recreation opportunity.

TERM

January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027

The City of Chelan is a "Strong Mayor" or "Mayor-Council" form of government, as opposed to a "Council/manager" form of government.

The mayor-council form of government consists of an elected Mayor (elected at-large), who serves as the city's Chief Administrative Officer, and a City Council (elected at-large), which serves as the municipality's legislative body. The Council has the authority to formulate and adopt city policies and the mayor is responsible for carrying them out. The mayor attends and presides over council meetings but does not vote, except in the case of a tie. The Mayor has the authority to hire and fire employees whereas the City Council has the authority over the budget.
